Vovinam Events Completed After Four Days of Competitions

Vovinam competitions at the 32nd SEA Games, which started on May 6, ended yesterday with the host country topping the medal list.

According to the Cambodian SEA Games Organising Committee (CAMSOC), seven countries – host Cambodia, Indonesia, Laos, Myanmar, the Philippines, Thailand, and Vietnam have participated in the four-day competitions.

Cambodia won a total of 27 medals from Vovinam: 10 gold, 8 silver and 9 bronze, followed by Vietnam with 20 medals (7 gold, 12 silver, and 1 bronze), and Thailand with 16 medals (5 gold, 3 silver, and 8 bronze).

Myanmar and Indonesia ranked fourth and fifth with 4 gold, 3 silver and 17 bronze medals, and 3 gold, 1 silver, and 14 bronze medals, respectively.

The Philippines bottomed the medal list with 2 silver and 6 bronze medals, behind Laos which gained 1 gold, 1 silver and 5 bronze medals.

Three other types sports – Ouk Chaktrang (Chess), Sailing, and Triathlon – have also ended their competitions at the 32nd SEA Games being hosted by Cambodia from May 5 to 17.

A total of 36 sports and a demonstration sport (teqball) have been listed for the 32nd SEA Games held under the motto "Sport: Live in Peace".
