His Royal Highness Prince Haji Al-Muhtadee Billah, the Crown Prince and Senior Minister at the Prime Minister’s Office of Brunei Darussalam, is concluding his official visit to Singapore for the 8th Singapore-Brunei Young Leaders’ Programme (YLP) tomorrow.

The 8th YLP has been a fruitful and successful one. The younger generation of leaders on both sides had the opportunity to strengthen personal ties. They also reaffirmed the close and special relationship between Singapore and Brunei. Both sides exchanged ideas on ways to harness the YLP to further expand bilateral cooperation. Singapore and Brunei agreed to establish a bilateral scholarship programme, which will be offered to high-performing Bruneian students to study in Singapore at the pre-tertiary level. This will promote exchanges between our youth and future leaders of tomorrow. Singapore also agreed to host Bruneian civil service officials on job attachments and training programmes in the Singapore public service. This will deepen relations and mutual understanding between our civil services. The Ministry of Education and Public Service Division will work with their Bruneian counterparts on the details of both initiatives. The 9th YLP will be held in Brunei in 2023.
