The National Humanitarian Month, which has been held every May since 2018 to respond to the World Red Cross and Red Crescent Day (May 8), has contributed to a strong change in the awareness of humanitarian work of Party committees, authorities, organisations, and individuals, thus creating a widespread solidarity movement in the community. With a target of supporting 100,000 individuals and collectives in difficult circumstances, the Vietnam Red Cross Society is striving to mobilising 400 billion VND (15.7 million USD) during this year's humanitarian month.
