Cambodia Committed to Promoting E-Commerce Ecosystem

Cambodia is committed to further enhancing the e-commerce ecosystem as the country is a leading nation in implementing the eTrade readiness assessment recommendations, achieving a remarkable 92 percent implementation rate. The remarks were made by H.E. Mrs. Cham Nimul, Minister of Commerce, in a ministerial panel discussion under the topic 'Addressing digital readiness challenges in developing countries,' which is one of the main sessions of the 7th session of the 'Intergovernmental Group of Experts on E-Commerce and the Digital Economy,' held on May 6 in Geneva, Switzerland. She emphasised that Cambodia has distinguished itself as a leading nation in implementing the eTrade readiness assessment recommendations, achieving a remarkable 92 percent implementation rate. The Ministry of Commerce of Cambodia has effectively utilised the eTrade Ready assessments to catalyse various governmental initiatives aimed at enhancing the e-commerce ecosystem. 'Cambodia is committed to bridging the digital divide and fos tering collaboration,' she said. Cambodia recognises the importance of MSMEs and will ensure that more MSMEs will move into the formal sector and are able to access public services, and secure the financing they need to upscale and grow, added the commerce minister.
