MUNICH and CHONGQING, China, February 10, 2015 /PRNewswire/ — The German company MESSRING, under license from the ADAC (largest automobile club in Europe), has launched the AEB (Advanced Emergency Braking) Test System onto the Chinese market. The test rig is used across the globe by OEMs, insurance companies, government institutions, and consumer protection organizations as the benchmark product in the testing of advanced emergency braking assistance systems (active safety systems). Up until now, AEB Test Systems were only relevant to companies that wanted to sell their vehicles in Europe and the United States, but the area of application is quickly spreading to East Asia. Euro NCAP was quick to include the testing device into their official test protocol for all AEB System tests published in July 2013. China NCAP will include the test protocol in its regulations beginning from 2018. The future importance of the device is underlined by the fact that Chinese state authorities like CATARC, and CAERI already use the system for their automotive tests.

The Original AEB Test System is comprised mainly of two components – a so called "target" which is designed to look like a car’s rear end, and a rugged track system made out of solid metal where the target is mounted on. The track system is attached to a conventional automobile trailer hitch and can be used for speeds of up to 80 km/h. The stable metal construction is unique to the system as it guarantees a controlled and linearly guided test procedure. Thanks to its ability to be set up and disassembled quickly, its high possible testing frequency, as well as its outstanding durability the system is absolutely unique.
