Indonesian Female Students Association (PPPI) of Sudan chairperson Melinda Retno Diningrum on Monday expressed her gratitude to the government, especially the Foreign Affairs Ministry, for its efforts to evacuate Indonesian nationals (WNIs) from Sudan. The final year student at the Law Faculty of the International University of Africa said in Temanggung, Central Java, on Monday that she and hundreds of other WNIs were escorted safely out of Sudan. "Praise be to God, we have safely returned to our families in Temanggung," she added. She said that she was shocked when the violence erupted in Sudan. On Monday, several relatives and neighbors paid a visit to her home to make sure that Diningrum, who arrived the same day, had returned safely. "Once I arrived home, all my worries just vanished, replaced by relief and joy as I gathered with my family," she remarked. Regarding the continuation of her studies in Sudan, she said that she will put it off till later, adding that "God willing, the government will help with my studies." "However, my primary concern at this point is the situation in Sudan. I have considered the country as my second home, my very place to study. With that in mind, I deeply empathize with the civilians there," she added. The evacuee also expressed the hope that the conflict in Sudan would be resolved at the earliest so that no more lives are lost. baca-jugaRelated news: TNI's Sudan mission ends with 75 evacuees arriving in JakartaRelated news: andgtovt still trying to get some nationals out of Sudan: MFA
