Regional Athletes to Compete in Different Events of Over 20 Sports Today

Athletes from the ten member countries of ASEAN and Timor-Leste will compete in various events of more than 20 types of sports at the 32nd SEA Games being hosted by Cambodia on May 8.

Those sports are Triathlon, Cricket, Golf, Kun Bokator, Ouk Chaktrang (Chess), Petanque, Vovinam, Athletics, Swimming, Mountain Bike, Badminton, E-Sports, Karate, Sepak Takraw, Soft Tennis, Tennis, Pencak Silat, Artistic Gymnastics, Billard, Sailing, Volleyball, Boxing, Kun Khmer, and Football.

The sports events will take place at different sport venues in the capital of Phnom Penh, and in the provinces of Siem Reap, Preah Sihanouk and Kep.

As of May 7, Cambodia gained in total 72 medals, staying at the top of the Medal Table for three consecutive days. Of the 72 medals, 29 are gold, 21 are silver and 22 are bronze.

The 29 gold medals include 6 in Vovinam, 4 in Kun Bokator, 4 in Chinlone, 3 in Jiu-Jitsu, 2 in Kun Khmer, 2 in Soft Tennis, 2 in E-Sports, 1 in Ouk Chaktrang (Chess), 1 in Aquathlon, 1 in Basketball, 1 in Cricket, 1 in Karate, and 1 in Pencak Silat.
