MANILA, Philippines Philippine President Rodrigo Duterte will attend a day-long meeting of leaders of the Association of Southeast Asian Nations (ASEAN) in Bali, Indonesia on Thursday, Xinhua news agency quoted a Philippine diplomat as announcing on Monday.

Foreign Assistant Secretary Junever Mahilum-West said Duterte would attend the meeting on Thursday afternoon and the working dinner that would follow.

She said Duterte would "highlight the government's efforts to improve its performance in achieving the sustainable development goals, urge all parties to strengthen support for micro, small and medium enterprises development."

Moreover, she added Duterte would also encourage deeper cooperation between ASEAN, United Nations (UN), International Monetary Fund and the World Bank so as to implement the ASEAN Vision 2025 and the UN 2030 Agenda for sustainable development.
