Senior Minister of State for Foreign Affairs and Home Affairs Masagos Zulkifli, Minister of State for National Development and Defence and Mayor for South East District Dr Maliki Osman, and Minister of State for Education and Communications & Information Ms Sim Ann, together with their spouses, were in Brunei Darussalam for the annual Hari Raya visit from 29 July to 2 August 2014. 

          On 30 July 2014, SMS Masagos and the delegation visited the Istana Nurul Iman.  SMS Masagos personally conveyed the Hari Raya wishes of Singapore’s leaders to the Sultan and Yang Di-Pertuan of Negara Brunei Darussalam, His Majesty Sultan Haji Hassanal Bolkiah Mu’izzaddin Waddaulah, the Raja Isteri, Her Majesty Pengiran Anak Hajah Saleha, and the Royal Family.  SMS Masagos also affirmed the warm and abiding friendship between Singapore and Brunei.

          Over the past three days, SMS and the delegation attended the Hari Raya Open Houses of Minister of Home Affairs Pehin Badaruddin Othman and other Bruneian Ministers, Deputy Ministers and leaders.  SMS and the delegation also called on Second Minister of Foreign Affairs and Trade Pehin Lim Jock Seng.  On 1 August 2014, MOS Maliki joined in Hari Raya celebrations with the SAF servicemen at Jalan Aman Camp.  On the same day, SMS Masagos and the delegation hosted a National Day Get-Together for Singaporeans in Brunei.  Earlier today, SMS Masagos hosted Bruneian leaders, officials and leading private sector figures to a Hari Raya Open House organised by the Singapore High Commission in Brunei.
