A group of Japanese experts from the Ministry of Land, Infrastructure, Transport, and Tourism led by Mr. Yutaka Yamamoto, Deputy Director General of the International Affairs Division, has been on a visit in Cambodia to study the possibility to engage the Japanese private sector in the development of Cambodian airports' infrastructure.

On Mar. 23, the delegation held a working session with Secretary of State at Cambodia's Office of the Council of Ministers H.E. Tekret Samrach.

In the meeting, H.E. Tekret Samrach and the Japanese experts exchanged views on the situation at the three international airports in Cambodia - Phnom Penh, Siem Reap and Preah Sihanouk International Airports.

The visit was made after All Nippon Airways (ANA) Co., Ltd., a major Tokyo-based airlines company, announced to begin its daily direct flight to Cambodia on Sept. 1, 2016.

In January, ANA said it will use Boeing B787-8 (C42/Y198) for Tokyo-Phnom Penh route (10:50-15:10) and Phnom Penh-Tokyo route (22:50-06:45(+1)).
