Investiture of Pingat Jasa Gemilang (The Meritorious Service Medal) on Director, Special Branch, Royal Malaysia Police
The President has conferred the Pingat Jasa Gemilang (Meritorious Service Medal) on Datuk Seri Akhil Bin Bulat, Director, Special Branch, Royal Malaysia Police. Deputy Prime Minister, Coordinating Minister for National Security and Minister for Home Affairs Teo Chee Hean presented the award to Datuk Seri Akhil Bulat at the Ministry of Home Affairs today.
2. Under Datuk Seri Akhil Bulat’s leadership, the relationship between the Malaysia Special Branch (MSB) and the Internal Security Department (ISD) in Singapore has grown even closer, characterised by substantive exchanges of counter-terrorism intelligence and cooperation in security investigations. The successful repatriation to Singapore of several Singaporean Jemaah Islamiyah and Moro Islamic Liberation Front members apprehended in Malaysia is a testament of Datuk Seri Akhil Bulat’s commitment to working closely with Singapore, especially against the terrorism threat.
3. The award is a recognition of Datuk Seri Akhil Bulat’s outstanding role and commitment in developing the ties between MSB and ISD, and his significant contributions to the security of Malaysia, Singapore and the region.
4. The investiture ceremony today was attended by guests from the Malaysian High Commission in Singapore, the Malaysia Special Branch and officers from the Home Team.
