Investiture of Darjah Utama Bakti Cemerlang (Distinguished Service Order), on Secretary General of the International Criminal Police Organisation (INTERPOL), Mr Ronald Kenneth Noble

Secretary General of the International Criminal Police Organisation (INTERPOL), Mr Ronald Kenneth Noble, was conferred the Darjah Utama Bakti Cemerlang (Distinguished Service Order) by President Tony Tan Keng Yam at the Istana this afternoon.
 
2.         The award is in recognition of Secretary General Noble’s significant contributions in promoting international policing cooperation and fostering excellent relations between Singapore and INTERPOL, and its 189 other member countries thereby enhancing the safety and security of the region and the world.
 
3.         Secretary General Noble’s support for Singapore has contributed substantially to forging close strategic ties between Singapore and INTERPOL. Significantly, this led to Singapore hosting INTERPOL’s second global facility, the INTERPOL Global Complex for Innovation (IGCI). The IGCI will be a game-changer to international policing, providing the platform for public private partnerships developing new and innovative security solutions against emerging global threats such as cyber-crime.
 
4.         Secretary General Noble called on Prime Minister Lee Hsien Loong at the Istana and Deputy Prime Minister, Coordinating Minister for National Security and Minister for Home Affairs Teo Chee Hean at the Ministry of Home Affairs before the investiture.
 
5.         The investiture today was attended by DPM Teo, Commissioner of Police Ng Joo Hee, as well as other senior officials from Singapore and INTERPOL.
