In response to media queries, the Police confirm that investigations are underway with regard to the incident at 8 Enggor Street.
The Police received a call for assistance on 7 December 2016 at 11.12 pm and responded promptly. Upon arrival, officers did not observe any altercation taking place, but preliminary enquiries and on-site interviews indicated that a prior altercation had taken place arising from a dispute over an unpaid taxi fare. The officers noted that the parties involved sustained minor injuries such as bruises and scratches, and advised them to seek medical attention. The officers assessed that there were no immediate law and order concerns and the parties were compliant with Police instructions.
The Police are investigating all parties involved in the incident. Anyone found to have committed any offence will be dealt with in accordance with our laws. The Police advise the public to refrain from speculation, and allow the due process of the law to take place.
