Flooding has occurred in a number of states in Malaysia, with some of the worst affected areas in Kelantan, Pahang and Terengganu. Heavy rains are also expected in the state of Johor over the next few days. Although there are some reports that the floods are receding, Singaporeans travelling to or residing in Malaysia are nonetheless advised to monitor local news and follow the latest weather forecasts and alerts at www.met.gov.my. They should avoid the flood-hit areas as much as possible. Travellers are also reminded to purchase comprehensive medical and travel insurance and should check with their insurers if in doubt on the terms and conditions of their insurance coverage.
