Dhaka, Aug 19 (UN) – The 16th death anniversary of former BNP secretary general Abdus Salam Talukder will be observed on Thursday.
BNP and Barrister Abdus Salam Talukder Smrity Sangsad have chalked out different programmes to mark the day with due respect.
BNP arranged a milad mahfil at the party’s Nayapaltan central office on Wednesday evening on the occasion.
The party also issued a message recalling his outstanding contributions to BNP for making it a stronger political organisation.
On this day in 1999, Salam Talukder died on way to Singapore for medical treatment.
Barrister Abdus Salam Talukder Smrity Sangsad will hold a milad mahfil and discussion on Thursday at his village home in Jamalpur.
It will also distribute cooked food among the destitute.
The organisation will arrange another discussion commemorating the BNP leader on Friday in the city.
