Cambodia, EuroCham Discuss Agricultural Cooperation

Cambodia and European Chamber of Commerce in Cambodia (EuroCham Cambodia) have discussed further cooperation on agriculture.

The discussion took place here in Phnom Penh on Mar. 27 between H.E. Dith Tina, Minister of Agriculture, Forestry and Fisheries and Mr. Tassilo Brinzer, Chairman of EuroCham Cambodia.

H.E. Dith Tina supported the EuroCham's new working group on agriculture and encouraged the Good Agriculture Practice (GAP) to focus on quality and sustainability of key crops.

He suggested EuroCham to analyse and ensure the profitability for farmers.

The ministry stands ready to provide support for the private sector to deploy technical team to train farmers on agricultural production in line with the European market through contract farming, he said.

The minister also requested the EuroCham to study the possibility of the EU banks to offer low interest-loan to farmers.
