Athlete Sean Chanhuot Earns Another Gold Medal in Vovinam for Cambodia

Cambodian Vovinam athlete Sean Chanhuot this morning grabbed another gold medal in Men's Long Stick Form event at the 32nd SEA Games being hosted by the Kingdom from May 5 to 17.

The Cambodian athlete scored 270 higher than the athletes from Myanmar (264), Thailand (261), and Indonesia (262).

This is the 7th gold medal in Vovinam, bringing the host country's gold medal tally to 33.

Of the 33 gold medals, 7 in Vovinam, 6 in Kun Bokator, 4 in Chinlone, 3 in Jiu-Jitsu, 2 in Kun Khmer, 2 in Soft Tennis, 2 in E-Sports, 1 in Ouk Chaktrang (Chess), 2 in Triathlon, 1 in Basketball, 1 in Cricket, 1 in Karate, and 1 in Pencak Silat.

In the same morning, Cambodia also won three more silver medals – one in Vovinam and two in Kun Bokator.

More than 20 types of sports are today's competition list including Triathlon, Cricket, Golf, Kun Bokator, Chess, Petanque, Vovinam, Athletics, Swimming, Mountain Bike Eliminator (MTB), Badminton, E-sports, Karate, Sepak Takraw (Chinlone), Soft Tennis, Tennis, Pancak Silat, Gymnastics (Artistic), Billiard, Seiling, Indoor Volleyball, Boxing, Kun Khmer, Kun Khmer and Football.

Cambodia bagged 63 medals – nine gold, 13 silver and 41 bronze – in the 31st SEA Games in Vietnam in 2022.
