The Police conducted enforcement operations between 4 August 2017 and 5 August 2017 against 23 public entertainment outlets located at the vicinity of Little India, Middle Road, Victoria Street, Tanjong Pagar, Duxton Road, Boat Quay, Raffles Avenue and Kampong Bahru Road.
Officers from the Central Police Division and Criminal Investigations Department, targeted public entertainment outlets with crime concerns or had previously flouted regulations under the Public Entertainment Act.
A total of 173 persons were checked and 16 men, aged between 21 and 40 years old were arrested for offences under the Societies Act. One public entertainment outlet was also found to have breached public entertainment licensing conditions. Investigations against the suspects and the public entertainment outlet are ongoing.
