Senior Minister of State (SMS), Ministry of Defence and Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Dr Mohamad Maliki Osman will visit Pekanbaru in Riau Province and Jambi City in Jambi Province from 25 to 28 July 2017. The visit is part of Singapore's continued efforts to expand cooperation and deepen ties with Indonesia at the regional level.

In Pekanbaru, SMS Maliki will meet Riau Governor Arsyadjuliandi Rachman, Pekanbaru Mayor Firdaus, and members of the Riau Regional House of Representatives. SMS Maliki will also engage local business leaders, as well as teachers and students from the University of Riau and from a local Islamic boarding school in Kampar Regency.

In Jambi City, SMS Maliki will meet Jambi Vice-Governor Fachrori Umar, Jambi City Vice-Mayor Abdullah Sani, and local business personalities. SMS will visit the Indonesia Climate Change Trust Fund's peatland restoration project in Tanjung Jabung Timur Regency to learn about Jambi's fire management projects and to explore potential areas of cooperation. SMS will also attend a reception hosted by the Singapore Consulate in Medan to commemorate the 50th anniversary of bilateral relations between Singapore and Indonesia.

SMS Maliki will be accompanied by officials from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
